We withdrew due to a lack of confidence in Game Stop's ability to service our customers and the PC market.

Wow Gamestop merging with Impulse?  Well fuck impulse then. Only reason I had it installed was for GalCiv2. >.>

All I see from gamestop is doing shit like "PRE ORDER FROM US AND GET SHIT FOR YOUR GAME"  Wouldn't want them to try and pull that on Star Ruler.

<3 Star Rulers Devs. :P

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

New ship set added, theres a screen of the models posted on page 2 of this thread (see link)

Firgof, when you next here can you drop the image into this thread? cheers

good work, those ships look mint

also im inclined to support your withdraw from Impulse, i dont use impulse or know much about the take over company, but i agree that you shouldnt work with companies your not comfortable with.

I haven't been able to get any vomit this release. Not any I can pick up, at any rate.
Swans, too. Swans are complete bastards.

The impulse service was never very good, the best part about it was a very convenient launcher which handled things like installing/uninstalling/updating multiple games very well by queuing them up. Other than that I really disliked the service and I absolutely detest gamestop so I support the move 100%.

Incidentally, I finally loaded this up again after such a long time. Wow this game has changed! I love what you guys are doing, keep it up.

I've used just about all the digital distro services (Steam, Direct2Drive, GamersGate, Amazon DD, Impulse et. al.), but I've never liked Impulse. It felt far more invasive than it needed to be, crashed frequently when I used it (admittedly a long while ago), and seemed to de-activate some of my games at random, or update them with beta patches that broke stuff -- regardless of the settings chosen. Maybe that was fixed, I don't know or care at this point.

But, eh. If Brad Wardell says everything is going to be fine, I'll go ahead and replace his picture with the Iraqi Information Minister of meme fame. He is the guy that promoted the Gamer's Bill of Rights while breaking them with Demigod and Elemental: WoM. Seriously, read them and consider the release of those games. Wardell is synonymous with exaggerations and disinformation. Oh, and hilarious meltdowns.

So long, Impulse. You were never a serious competitor for Steam anyway.

OH AND ... the latest patch info for Star Ruler is awesome. Love the new ship graphics. Keep doing what you're doing, guys, it's amazing how much Star Ruler has improved. Kudos for sticking with it and improving everything about it.

All I can think about when someone brings up that novel is a quote that I believe was from him where he says "That is how bad ass the dress is!".

Sorry, I have nothing of value to add to this thread.

I also dislike Impulse(which is why for all my contests I use Steam or D2D) due to the fact that when Stardock merged/became Impulse I lost my games and had no record due to no longer owning my old email address. As an early adopter of this game(although not a player) I commend the devs on every step they have made. I wish them nothing but success.

The dress was the most interesting character in the novel, according to a review. Obviously I never read the book, as my brain has not turned to ooze and run out my ears.

Question for Firgof: Has the demo been updated recently?

It is just about to be actually.  We're working on the final changes to the tutorial section to update it to 1070's current status.  Still want to do a complete overhaul of the thing but now it's at least accurate.
