Sorry if this is mentioned somewhere, I havent read through everything.

I was watching the teaser and I noticed three cheverons, and that got me thinking. Is there going to be an experience system, and possible transfer of crews?

"Edit" While im at it, will mass drivers cause a ship to move?(Size 12 ship fires huge mass driver, Size 9 ship is hit in the forward section of the ship, causing it to spin very fast, causing whatever negetive effects).

I just noticed this comes out only 3 days before Elemental: War of Magic.
Argh. I want both, but can't pay for both, and I don't really want to pirate either of them.

Well you probably won't play them both at the same time.  Buy whichever one you want more first, or buy Star Ruler first since they probably have less money than Stardock.

you've got a point there.
But I could play both at the same time. Elemental is turn-based, i think, so it's technically not paused unless I open the options or something, I'm just taking a really long time to decide what to do.
So, I could start a game of Elemental then open Star Ruler and play that while my computer's fans complain very loudly about trying to run 2 3D games at once.

I've played two muds and diablo at the same time before. I had a laptop for the muds, and had it sitting on my lap while I played diablo.

Just to bump this... it comes out in a few days! i've kept my eye on it for a while, but it seems the pc requirements would limit it for me too much to be fun :( still looks promising!

There is little to no info from the main site. How is it? Is it worth less, more, or as much as the company asks?

Well, the developers ran into a financial situation which forced them to make a decision; Release the game and use the revenue from sales to continue development or bankrupt and never release at all.

Obviously, they chose to release.

The game is as playable as a very polished beta, so far I have discovered no gamebreaking bugs but I haven't played very long either. It is a very ambitious game with a woefully inadequate UI (Where have we seen that before eh?) but so far it is fun. I like the system they have implemented for ship design, and I like that I can from the very start design and build a ship as large as a star. Granted I may not be able to AFFORD such a beast, nor even have the raw material to construct it, but I can design and start its construction seconds after I begin the game. (And I did. It is monstrous. I have been playing for an hour and it is 4% complete. The entire planet's population and economy is tied up in its construction, and I am now shipping in material from other planets I have since colonized.)

The modding is extremely open-ended as well.

If you have any specific questions let me know.

This ship is consuming the entire industrial output of 25 worlds. It is now 7% complete.
