Reading Sean's posts, they did not come off as showing you negatively at all, merely reflecting the unpolished surface of that deep and mysteriously flexible being you call a game.

Well, id like to know some more about how ships go about fighting eachother, i know now that they will try to outmanouver eachother on a 3d plane, wich is awesome.

Id also like to know how strapping engines to planets to make them ships works.

Yeah!   How many engines can I strap to my planet, and then can I race them?

That is the best idea I have ever heard.

it could be just ONE REALLY BIG ENGINE.

What I want to know is what kind of strap can hold that engine on a planet?

(yea i know, ONE REALLY BIG STRAP)

It's simple, actually: an engine takes up one of the slots that your planetary facilities occupy.  You may build as many as you have slots remaining on the planet.

Hahaha.  I don't see why you couldn't.

It's buried further down than the crust of the planet.  About halfway down from the surface to the core, I'd imagine, is where it's base would reside.

Why use a planet? Just build a planet-sized engine and live on it!

For that you would need to cover it with some semi organic thing to let things grow and then you could take the power to run the engine from the life force of the things living on the engine. You could call it "aging".

Anyway, im wondering how the entire shipbuilding goes. Is a ship just a bunch of circles put together or do the systems change shape so you could fit a really thin and long fuel tank between 2 engines?

But Remember Tomorrow did have it like that, and I liked it very very much.

There's no shape changing at this time so yar, all subsystems are circular.  The 2 engines would, in that case, either overlap or be under/over the fuel tank.

Racing planets is probably the awesomest idea ever.

What kind of theoretical speeds could we reach with our race planets?

That's a ship. Huge mining projects to bury a city sized contraption that spews fire into the sky at all times of the day is much more inefficient, and thus, dwarven. Plus there's always the possibility of the engine coming loose and punching through the planet core which makes racingplanets even more awesome.

Can you terraform planets, and if so, how in depth is it?
Would you just drop a "terraformer" or something, or would it be more immersive?

Is it possible to create planets?

Do races require an acceptable atmosphere to live in, or can any race freely live on any planet?

Are superweapons capable of destroying entire planets or armies at a time?

These are two of a very short list of things that I am actually unable to answer at this time.  I will be sure to respond to these just as soon as I am able to. :)
As for our aspirations:  Both of those features have been discussed among the dev team and we would like to do both in depth, just as we would like to do actual directed planetary invasions and so forth.

Quote
Is it possible to create planets?
It is our goal to allow the player to create or destroy any interstellar/intergalactic phenomena, including stars/planets/black holes/etc.  So yes, that is our intention.  How that might be accomplished is still being discussed between Reaper, myself, and the rest of the devteam.

Quote

Yes.
Of course, with enough size and weapons research...

any weapon can gain qualities normally regulated to 'superweapons'; the Plasma Beam featured here is outputting enough power to destroy every manmade structure on the surface of B-13 IV in a single pulse thanks to a generous amount of research in energy systems, beam weapons, and ship systems.
