Perfect, so just shift-doubleclick the generic tiny scout ship in the planet production screen a dozen times and 'x' them all and you'll have intel about far more than enough systems for quite some time.

Another patch coming out later today; will let you know when.

Notable features:  More system rings (to represent systems that have colonies and don't
have colonies, and which have a lot of ships or just a few), a checkbox which swaps the
zoom mode from the current zoom-out on cursor to zoom-out from center of screen, controls
to alter pan-speed, added a thread compatibility mode, added a nickname box, a public
server checkbox to make your server public/private, a key which resets the camera's roll
to the default value, and a fix for space ports which were failing to distribute
food/resources at higher levels.

We'll also be attempting to put in AI difficulty controls, getting Multiplayer to be more
reliable and functional, and giving the AI more designs to work with.

I would wait tbh.

It will be worth getting I'm sure, the team is very dedicated and making great strides. Is it worth it right now? no.

And again, we run into an issue with the "Wait till it gets better till you buy it" concept. If you don't buy it now because you're waiting for the game to get better then the Developers have less capitol to work with when developing said game to make it better.

Interestingly, Armok's name actually originates from arm_ok, a variable in one of Toady's earlier games that kept track of how many of your arms weren't missing.

You could always focus on DF. 40d had more to it in Alpha and Star Ruler claims to be a refined Beta.

No, the price will not drop. I doubt it drops anytime in the next 5 years. If it does drop, the two creators have probably abandoned it.

Actually we were thinking of dropping the price sometime in the future.  In a year or two, depending on how the game does, we're also liable to make it completely open-source so that the community can continue to improve it even if we're unable to. :)

The codebase is written in C++, most of the rest of it is scripts in AngelScript (which is similar to C++, I'm told) and then everything else is in text files.

The AS and TXT stuff is already exposed.

Seeing as its incredibly moddable already, I doubt it will even need to become open-source to have it continue to be improved by the community. Just needs the very basic infrastructures polished and bug-free.
