DnD 3.5: Take to the Skies! (too many recruits!)
« on: February 03, 2010, 02:03:05 am »

I've already got two players for this from another forum, I'm looking for another two.  I reserve the right to be completely arbitrary in deciding who gets in, so don't post "first post".

Oh well.

Well, I'll see if I can't get a character sheet up, though I've only really played clerics.

I suspect you've never tried doing many illegal things yet in your game. The second the CCS knows you're "active", they'll come down on you like the hammer of God.

Take a closer look at the "mechanics" section, and see what you can see whydoncha?

In before Neruz gets here.

Which books?

Just PHB 1 and 2?

Well, I'm open to most non-caster classes and you are starting w/out magical items... so I'm having a little trouble seeing why you'd feel the need for additional rulebooks at level 1.  But sure, whatever rule/homebrew you want as long as it isn't pan-pan.

I think it's first come, first served, so if you get a sheet up fast enough, you'll get in.

And, yeah. Psionics? They're not really casters, especially not Psychic Warriors. And they're more like a sorcerer than a wizard.

*Cackles and flees.

I am of course, joking. I would never use Psionics, they're almost as bad as taint.

I'll get on to char creation in a bit.

I get it, everyone is humorously pretending to have not read anything in the original post.  Very funny guys!

But yeah, I think psychic warriors don't really fit the theme, I should have been a bit more specific on psionics.

Ah, an actual question: what of potions?  Are potions considered magic items?  I like me my potions of cure light wounds....

Given the nature of forum dnd, I'd prefer to keep potions rare.  Don't expect to get stuck in long fights or dungeon crawls where attrition wears through your supply of health potions which you drink like soda in between fights.  Going through those kinds of adventures over a forum would take weeks.

Edit: a thought occurs to me to reinforce the low magic feel without fundementally altering the balance of the game.  Healing spells give temporary hit points (over the natural hit point limit possibly) which wears off after 1 min/caster level.  The exception being healing potions, which would restore hit points normally, thus giving them exotic status.

I apologize, I'm paranoid about clicking links. Hmm lets see if I can read alot of this and still get a char sheet ahead of others.
