Stand alone story, with help from Janet. She'll be making her entry after I do.
, it's suppose to be shortish. But entertaining.
The past is the past, but I can't help but recall at least a few things from highschool. So yeah, lots of shit to do getting through entrance exams so we could finally head into the subforums, but there were a few things that struck me as...well.
April 13th
Jackrabbit banged on the locker door. "Hey! Hey! Let me out!" I turned around, trying to figure out where the noise was coming from. "Come on guys! This isn't funny!" I approached the crowd of laughing "cool kids" surrounding the locker in question. One of them didn't back down though. "Hey, this ain't any of your business FreakDrone." I ignored him for the moment, tore the locker door from it's hinges, pulled Jackrabbit out, and then shoved the guy inside, replacing the door. After punching the door in place, I figured it would take a cutter to get him out. Suited me. Jackrabbit bristled up to his ears, but kept his signature unending grin. "Gee, thanks Drone. Sorry, they just keep picking on me." I shrugged. "I wouldn't worry about them, just get to class. See you at lunch?" Jackrabbit shivered. "Meat Surprise Day." I shared his sentiment. After wandering back down the hall, I passed the first floor rest rooms...
I swore I got the feeling I was being watched when I went into the Male side. Right up until I flushed and wandered up the sink. I glared at the row of stalls, but ended up leaving in a hurry. "Cripes." Dwarven Science had just started, with Professor Footkerchief about to lock the door. I barely made it in with...whoever the red head girl was. I dunno. She looked new. Granted I don't know half the people in this class or admit to look between lessons.
Thing is, when I took my seat, I swore she took the one behind me. Ever get the feeling that there's a hole being drilled in the back of your head, only you know, without the pain or anything? Kinda like that. I didn't dare turn around and glare though, the Professor was already riding me hard after the incident with the Steamworks. I must have burned half of the class projects that time.
Aqizzar nudged me coming back from...well pretending to sharpen a pencil. Anything to get out of writing a paper for that guy. "Who's the chick?" I shrugged. "Dunno." He grunted, retaking his seat to the far left of the room, where all the girls swooned at his permanent green five o'clock shadow. Windbag.
The class finished pretty quickly, because it always does. No one goes uninjured in Dwarven science, which always cuts it short. We left the room in a hurry, so I could get into my favorite class. Room 121. Social Skills. I shit you not, they place us in a big room and tell us to talk to each other. So we can work on, well I dunno, things like lying, and intimidation, and comedy. Seriously, they devoted a whole class to talking. Unfortunately, it was partner day, and partners are ALWAYS ROTATED...Ugh. I was relieved to see Jackrabbit coming over, well, I was, until that girl I saw grabbed him by the ears and flung him over to Duke's table. Jack landed right on top of him.
Okay, not the weirdest thing, but it was weird that she went through all that trouble but hadn't said a word yet. Just sat there staring at me. At first I tried shrugging it off and starting our assigned conversation topic, but she just stared, looking like she was trying to absorb every word from me. Then I spent the rest of the period glaring at her, hoping she would get up and leave. She didn't.
So period ends. LUNCH TIME. Fuck yeah. Time to meet up with the guys. Tack was there first, like usual, so he could get the seat farthest from the short leg side. Aqizzar was in the lunchroom before all of us, but just because he was sneaking drinks from his canteen. Drunkard. I took a seat across from him, he generally had something to egg me on about, and I liked the counter jeering.
Jackrabbit got his lunch money stolen again, so he shared lunch with me, well okay, he opened up his world eating grin for a split second and my lunch was gone. Cthulhu and Vester took seats, though Vester didn't look like she was in the mood to talk. Something about drawing "obsidian spears" and "john stalvern" or whatever. Weird. Cthulhu was trying to seem not not cool. Wonder how that's working out. Taco Dan was pretending to sell weed again, but I know it's just grass.
"So Drone, what's up with the weird girl?" I shrugged again. "Fuckin' beats me." Tack snickered. "Girlfriend, eh gramps?" I flicked a finger at his forehead, sending him into the far wall. "No numbnuts, I don't even know her." Jackrabbit bent one of his ears, licking his chops. "She sure looked like she knew you."
I grunted. "Whatever, just another weirdo." Aqizzar squinted at that. "What's the matter Drone, worried you have a little weirdo following you around?" That was that then. I placed my arm up on the table, where my usual indention was. Aqizzar placed his in the other indention. Shouts of "ARM WRESTLE!" And "THE BARON AND DRONE GOING AT IT AGAIN." rose up, and the other kids in the back of the lunchroom gathered around. Further up the popular people just ignored us. "Gonna have to beat you again Drone?"
I snorted. "Right." After lunch ended, it was just a couple more classes. But it's like the weird feeling kept following me around. I had to take a piss again, so in the middle of Magma Rotation 101 I raised my hand for a pass. I swore I saw another hand go up, but I was already out of the room.
In the bathroom, I had just pulled down my zipper. The far left stall was slammed open. And then the one next to it. And the next one. I fumbled with my zipper, pulling it up, while the stall next to mine burst open. I heard the scruffing of booted feet stop at my stall, heavy breathing on the other side, and the press of a hand on the end. A raspy but light toned voice whispered from the otherside, along with more heavy breathing. "Hii~"
I swear my heart stopped for a split second, but when the person on the other side ran off in a hurry, I barged through the door, ramming it into the stall next to mine. The door had just closed. "What the fuck..."
April 17th
I pulled up on the Plasteel bar they had to install for me, rising into the air and then back down. Coach Keiseth shouted in my direction. "THAT THE BEST YOU CAN DO? COME ON MAN, YOU'RE A BEHEMOTH, BURN IT, WORK IT." I scowled. This WAS burning it, especially considering he placed the bar high enough I had to transfer from the CLIMBING ROPE. Bastard. I finished my set, setting down on the pile of mats below. Behind the stands, I saw the weird kid from my S.S class. She was shaking down Jackrabbit for whatever reason. By the time I made my way over there, helped Jackrabbit up, and took a second look, she was gone though, and Coach was yelling at us to get back to laps. "She take anything from you?"
Jackrabbit bristled again. "No, actually. She was asking about you." I glared at him. "That's not funny man." Jackrabbit flailed his arms. "No really! She was scary Drone! Said she'd cut me if I said anything more than that!" I throttled Jackrabbit. "Shutit already! She won't cut anyone." Jackrabbit ALMOST broke his grin to frown. Almost. "How do you know that?"
I wasn't really sure what the hell was going on around here. People were talking about lots of scares lately, but it usually centered around the places I hung out. Fucking creepy when I found a note plastered with hearts under my lunch tray. Fucking insane when stuff like the bathroom incident four days ago kept happening. I never catch anyone messing with me though, so I don't even know who's doing it, even if I have a good idea.
I'm sick and tired of it, and I know that weirdo in my S.S class always pushes my rotation out of his seat everyday. She even shaved a lick off of Aqizzar yesterday! Though it grew back instantly. He backed the fuck off though.
It was the return assignment period, and all I had on my plate was extra credit for S.S. I wandered into the room on the dark period, and the teacher was out. Figures. Jack tried taking this period with me, again landed in Duke's face. Then I ignored her when she sat down, working on my notes, when a hand snatched the pencil away. She looked at me evenly, twiddling with the pencil, before breaking it in half. I half stood up half bent over to match her height. "You know what, fuck off, you creep."
Weirdest thing happened, she didn't get angry, or just say nothing, she broke down and ran out of the room...crying? I couldn't tell. No-one in the room had seen what happened beside the crying and my outburst, so they all glared at me, wondering what the fuck was my problem making her cry like that. "Whatever." I snorted, sitting back down. Aqizzar looked in my direction, shaking his head slowly, a judging squint played on his face.
Everyone was heading out, but I stayed for the study period, and after. The teacher came back when they were closing up the school, and told me to head off. The halls were pretty desolate, and echoed instead of getting caught in a din like usual. When was the last time I stayed this late...
There was a patter of footsteps behind me. I turned around, trying to catch sight of whoever it was. From up the stairway to the next floor I heard a distant giggle, again light tone. I began walking in the direction of the exit, but there was more following patterns or raspy breathing and giggling. It was starting to piss me off, but in the darkened hallways, across from the janitor's closet where he left the utility light on, I saw the outline of a blade in hand. I rushed off again, taking an erratic twist down the corridor to try and get to the back exit, but that was locked. I heard rushing movement from where I came, so I ducked into the rest room right then, looking behind me and running to the farthest stall, where the window was kept. I bolted the stall door, right when the rest room door creaked open, so I wasted no time in checking the window and...remembering it was too small to fit through. I turned around, listening for any sudden movements. I just heard slow footsteps down the line of stalls...
One stall...flung open. Next one, same. The next three slammed open. She stopped at mine. The heavy rasping breath, and a metallic sliding sound of metal on metal, as if she were sharpening a blade. "...Hii~"
The stall slowly opened.
