As a side note, does anyone know the exact effects of a Hunting or War template? Does it increase damage, or just make them behave differently?

Again, I'm not against War Cows, I'm against Hunting Cows. War Cows I can see (and yes, did live on a farm, where you quickly learn that everything can hurt you, and at some point will) but Cows ambushing from behind a tree? Not so much.

And I believe Hunting animals get the Ambush skill, and War animals do slightly more damage. I think any training also removes the creature's tendency to run, run, run away at the first hint of damage.

As well, all the posts i've seen you make are flame posts, barely if at all constructive.

Yes, but female cows lack pointy maiming instruments. They're more valuable for producing nice cheese for the traders than to send out to war.

Anyhow, I think being trained to hunt would be the dog's special shtick, alongside cow milk, cat vermin hunting, ox/mule pack animalness, and elephant ivory. Most anything could be war trainable, but they'd all have nice little side trainings/secondary characteristics.

well.. there are many varieties of bovine that have horns on both male and females such as the Danish Red, White Park, and the famous Texas Longhorn. A few varieties  of bulls dont have horns either.. :P and not to mention, much of the danger comes from sheer weight.. a swift kick can render most in to pain.. being trampled by a bovine is worse than being gored IMO
