Online Wargaming
« on: January 30, 2010, 08:32:53 pm »

I am interested in maybe starting a war gaming group for Axis and Allies, using the VASSAL Engine http://www.vassalengine.org/community/index.php?option=com_welcome&Itemid=25. Is anyone here a big Axis and Allies fan, or just interested? Post here and we might be able to get a group going for weekly games.

I wouldnt mind getting on the action, but I generally use triple a for my Allies and Axis fix. Is the one linked to mac compatible?

I'm interested, too. I have Skype, MSN, AIM, and Steam. I've never played the game in my life, though.

The game isn't that hard to learn.

It does have amazing breadth for strategy though. It also dependent on working together as a team.

It can also take a wee bit of time. The vassal engine, though fucking awesome doesn't have core allies and axis, so it looks like we'll be using TrippleA, a fairly simple program to use.  I've used it before, so I can help with that, and  Atomicwinter and I have both played Allies and Axis before, so we should both be able to help with explaining the rules.

We're one short of a full house, but the game can be played with four players.

I'm a night owl on PST. Between 4pm, and 7pm, is generally when I am making diner. I'm good any day of the week.

How about something in the future thing?

I'm also thinking of trying to get together once a week.
