A sci-fi text adventure
« on: January 30, 2010, 05:24:18 pm »

So I don't have to do asciidraw everytime i want to do an update.

You are in the engineering section of the ship, with quad fusion reactors and a central terminal, it seems very robust. You twirl your wrench 'round your finger and stuff it into your pack, examining the console.

"Welcome to T.A.I., or Terminal Artifical Intelligence. Select option."
(1)Shut down Quad Reactors.
(2)Reboot Reactors.
(3)Switch to Camera View.
(4)Logoff.

"Welcome ENGINEER JOE RILEY! Would you li-"

You do a flying Chuck Norris punch of death to the console.

"ALERT;ALERT; CHUCK NORRIS DETECTED ONBOARD VESSEL, EXTERMINATION PROCEDURE INTIATED"

2 small defense drones light green and hover over the metallic flooring.

COMBAT MODE LAWL
You fire a shot, making the drone spin somewhat out of control onto the floor. It's light goes red, then quickly afterwards shuts off.

The enemy combat drone fires a shot at you and it strikes you in the foot. You fall to the floor, face rushing with blood, and fire a shot at the drone. It explodes and shrapnel is sent flying everywhere, and a piece impacts into the top of your arm, slicing a piece of skin off.

Steam exhales from your pistol and you manage to eject the empty clip, then load in a fresh one before falling unconcious.

"Hm? What's that AI?"

"Doctor, the patient shows increased heart rates and brain activity. If we do not shut him down now, he will undergo cardiac arrest at a level at that of which i won't be able to stop with the Cryo Chems."

"Do it anyway, AI! This is the closest we're going to get in terms of organ and mental stability. Drain the Pod!"

You feel your surroundings getting warmer, and you open your eyes. A mask has been placed around your mouth and cups around your eyes, you see a watery liquid around you draining into small drains at the bottom of the pod, and you begin to feel your limbs again. Soon, the liquid is drained and you can fully feel your body.

"Alright, AI, open the Cryo doors."

"Yes doctor."

The glassy door slides open and you feel tense, like you're stressed. Your arm starts moving erratic, you tell it to go a little to one way and it moves alot that way..You feel the blood in your veins, that primal instinct, and...

"AGH!!"

You rush at the doctor, pulverizing him and ramming him up against the wall, your breath heavy with anger.

"Please! Please don't kill me!"

You clench your fists on the doctors throat-He struggles in vain, then falls limp.

"Cryo Subject 56 is loose. Initiating lockdown."

You hear a man come on comms...

"This is the commander of the base, get that motherfucker 'n kill 'em. Afterwards we're going to the bar. Bloody bastards, I knew we shouldn't have setup a fucking asteroid cryo regeneration base in the fucking Epsilon Eridani system. Too damn isolated, fuck."

You spot a saw on a table in the corner, and a now locked door. Though you get the feeling that with a little bit of searching you could find something of use...

You search around and find a PDA, you open it up, and see that it has extensive hacking capabilities.. You look at the door with a red light above it and get a rape smile on your face.

Couldn't we like, just kick it down?

Anyway hack the door. Then remove it from its hinges/whatever and use it as a weapon.

Well.. This is in Space, in the future, where they use titanium for most structures, space-side or planet-side.

You operate the hacking device on the door, and the above light turns green soon after. You push the button and the door opens.

...Shit.

5 guards armed with G-X Rifles stand before you, guns at the ready. They pull their weapons up and turn the safetys off.

"Don't try anything stupid, bitch. We're going to fuck you up if you try anything, and-"

You sense a surge.. What is that? Not adrenaline, no, no, no...But..

"HOLY FUCKO-"

The captain is sent flying back into the wall, he hits it. You pull him back towards you, grab his rifle and hold his body up against yours as a meat shield. You spot cover and rush behind it.
BOOM
BOOM
BOOM

Several bullets impact into the spot you were standing a second before, and ricochet off. 2 hit the guards, one in the head. There is 2 guards left to deal with, now...
