Would anyone like to set up an X-com Interceptor mutiplayer game using like hamachi or something? I think it would be fun

I should probably mention this. If you're playing X-Com: UFO defense / UFO: Enemy unknown, then you may notice the game is lagging a bit. If you go into
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\xcom ufo defense
or whatever then you should see a file named dosbox.conf
Right click and open it with word pad and scroll down to

cycles=autoand change it to something like

cycles=auto limit 20000
That will make the game run a bit faster, but you may notice that time moves quicker on the globe as well, so clicking 30 days will probably make the game instantly jump ahead to the next pause screen thing.

I got both the X-Com Pack and the Freedom force pack.  I really shouldn't be spending more money on computer games but this was less than five bucks for a game I really enjoyed, and its sequels/ crappy spinoffs. And another game I really enjoyed and its sequel.

I haven't read the whole thread yet but to the OP, I personally follow the Abandonia line on abandonware; if it can't be acquired from legitimately it's abandonware.

I don't even know if I want to buy X-Com. That game is like one of the biggest time sinks in the history of games.

Ufo Defense: Good.. but hard!
Terror From The Deep: Crashed on the first fight, so hard to say
Interceptor: Keeps, bloody, crashing. (Unhandled Exception)
Apocalypse: Pretty repetitive and annoying at times, and sorta hard.
Enforcer: Holy crap, it's uhh... different, not that good. Gets boring after a while.

Can anyone tell me how to fix the Unhandled Exception problem?
or a step-by-step for a workaround?

Although I already had XCOM on my machine already, I got the pack during the Christmas sale just so I have a legitimate copy of it, and it's sequels on my machine (although I did legitimately own it ages ago). I also wanted the GOTY editions to run properly on my machine without crashing randomly like the last times I had it.

Still looking forward to some online combat against anyone.

I finally installed it from steam (even tho I already have it elsewhere) and the dosbox is horribly configured. So here are my hints.

Open your doxbox.conf file. It should be in your steam/steamapps/common/xcom ufo defense/ folder.

Change the following settings:

Under [sdl]:
fullscreen=false
windowresolution=1024x640
(You can change window resolution to anything else, but remember to keep a 1.6 ratio, otherwise dosbox will squish your graphics)
output=ddraw
autolock=false

Under [cpu]:
cycles=auto
cycleup=1000
cycledown=1000

under [autoexec] you can do this if you want to install xcomutils:
# call ufocd.bat
# exit

Just comment those out so you can run the steam included dosbox without running xcom, so then you can run xcusetup. After that, you want to change the call to "call runxcom.bat" instead, so you can run xcom with xcomutils.
