Uh... is it just me or can you removed around 90% of the viruses people put on you with the basic .3 virusscanner?  I mean, I just nuked a whole tonne.

Also, I guess having the .5 firewall at least keeps out opportunistic newbs... am I right in thinking you need at least the equivalent waterwall to get in?

Actually, I've realised that I would be able to hack my own firewall.  Hmm.

What does Syrnia.rip actually do?  Is it password protection or something?

It's used for warez.
You have to upload .vshare and any .rip to the slave though.
Also, I've got Bay12 - Apple.txt in my Hard-drive.

Syrnia is a warez, you upload to a computer which you installed the warez virus on and it will then sell syrnia for you. It's totally not worth it though, overnight one of my spammers made 18 euros, the computer selling warez which takes even longer to upload made me a single euro.

Also make sure you hide the viruses you're storing on your hard drive, otherwise anyone who gains access can just install them and save them self some time uploading them.

Yes.


Also, when you change IP or password, if you have a virus still on your computer, the virus' owner gets the new IP/password.
For a full clean, IP reset as you format. (I mean, start both and navigate away from any window with a progress bar. AFTER they are finished, from the processes window you can click complete to finish them instantly. Format and then IP change, as fast as possible.)

Of course, you do lose all your files, except those on an external drive, but if you choose well, you are still far ahead of a new player. I reccomend a waterwall at least, and to be logged into a server with some of the files you would need to download, so that you don't have to risk a few seconds in the initial log clear.

Don't bother saving your firewall, a waterwall will give you access to any firewall of that level or lower all you have to do is remember which NPC has a firewall of the same level as yours.

Hide stuff you don't want deleted but bear in mind hidden stuff can't be used. I have my syrnia viri and analzer all hidden.

Ok... antivirus obviously should be hidden, I guess.  Can you still upload hidden stuff?

Watch out, though, if your antivirus is hidden and someone disables(deletes or hides) your unhider, you can't use it.
