Bah, was away from the computer for five minutes and someone wiped out my files and hid something on it (probably viruses). Guess I'll format and start collecting files again.

Heh, I wonder if my new bank account is secure... I don't think anyone saw it, but who knows?

I transfered money to a new one after I knew the old one wasn't secure (went to clean my log after buying something and suddenly after it was "cleaned" it had the bank details back in it again, which I know meant someone had re-altered it during the time I was altering it) and am hoping nobody happened to be in the bank while I did the transfer.

Why is it sometimes when I try to crack an account number it takes 3 minutes, while other times it takes 9? Is there some randomness to it?

I asked the same thing about log edits. One computer I went to it took 2 whole minutes to edit a log, and I had NOTHING else going. Same edit on the very next target, 6 seconds.

Tried 6 times so far. 3 of them took 3 minutes, 3 of them took 9.


lol, I've tried 10 times now with no success. At least the last 4 times were at 3 minutes instead of the dreaded 9 minutes Thing is, this is the first account that I *know* has some money in it since I got the number from happening on a guy as he was collecting from a slave. With my luck it will be empty before I can get it cracked.

One strategy that I've found works real well:  Collect IPs, but don't hack them until three hours later or so.  Only touch someone a few hours after they've been doing anything.  Most people won't catch you in their own logs...but if you're trolling for IPs on an NPC server, and you jump on an IP as soon as it shows up, expect some OTHER player to pick you up on their logfiles when you connect.

Plus, if you hit someone an hour or three after they last played, they are unlikely to find your virus, so you waste less time.

It goes without saying that you should only collect money when you haven't been playing at ALL for the last hour or two, and even then, normal queue-up-your-logfile-edit rules apply.

Oh yeah and multitasking is very important in this game.  Not just in-game processes:  REAL multitasking.  Play some other game!  Hack an active player, lurk in his logs, and check them every ten minutes or so.  You won't get too bored if you're doing something else at the time.  And I just picked up someone's bank account information because I was surfing his logs for like half an hour.  (If a B12er is 72.100.x.x, I'll leave their account alone.)

Just stole from my first account. Although I have no doubt it will be stolen back, I don't lose anything. And it's fun! 

EDIT: Oh no, someone stole from it before me. Never mind.

EDITEDIT: scratch that, I tried to collect from it twice. So the logs were available for at least 30 seconds.

I took some guy for 1600 earlier without consequence, spent it immediately on a better connection and processor. He had no B12 tag so was free game.

I finally cracked the account I was going after, after like 20 tries.

He only has 13 euros, lol... apparently he just upgraded, since the logs had showed that he was collecting 50+ several times. Maybe he won't delete the account and I can collect on it tomorrow

They were both bone dry.

Just don't let him know he's hacked and he should feel pretty safe.

I'm trying to crack another one now, one that I saw someone (supposedly) put a bit over 5000 euros into from another account. It was deleted right after I found it, so unless he spends it all right away I might actually get something out of this one

I just hope it doesn't take another year to get the thing cracked. Last one took like 15 tries.
