Nah, Howard was better. Rudd just went and gave the entire treasury to the public as an economic stimulous
Seriously, how does giving everyone 1-3k help the economy once they've spent it. And most people just put it in the bank.

No he didn't. Not 3k, more like $950. And only to people earning less than 80k/p.a. Lets not forget massive infrastructure spending and upgrades too.

Rudd just exists to spend money, at least howard had some restraint

Howard only got that money through the mining boom, and he expected that to continue (it did not). What would have Howard done if he was in power?

He would either spend it like Rudd, or hold onto it, causing us to slide further into depression. Simply, because of Rudds spending we are better [economically] of than we were if he did not.

However Rudd did alot of things that were not good. One of the main problem he has is pretending that Australia is a world power (read: all those damn summits).

But I do not care how much you think Howard was better than Rudd. Howard was not that great of a Prime Minister, yet we had him for Eleven Years. His policies were outdated. The Australian people simply needed change.

laptops for schools programs, 70% of teachers don't know their way around computers, at least not well enough to use them for classwork, coupled with the security so weak it can be bypassed by clicking run as administrator it leads to the laptops not being used for educational purposes most of the time.
Actually, I find that this year the teachers are using laptops alot more, perhaps not to their fullest extent, but they're making use of them.

God damn I hate handwriting.

God damn.

With the cash I was referring to entire families

And as for spending the cash, even if expenses are increasing we had a decent amount of cash in the treasury, until it was randomly spent.
I'm ok with spending money, the infrastructure stuff was needed, but the stimulus was just to gain popularity.

And as for the laptops, they did have to be introduced at some point, but the way it was done was purely another vote-grab.
I would have waited another 5-10 years so that teachers Actually grew-up using computers and the Internet, Why do we need them now ?

One thing we can both agree on. I would love to use a laptop at school, and I was pretty close to qualifing for one due to my handwriting. I just doubt that they are worth the cash to distribute to every student without any plan on how to use them

I'm probebly a little hard on K.rud But alot of the expenses don't seam to have achieved much

Actually, I'd say it'll end up more like what happened in Demolition Man that an actual police state.

I look forward to Sylvester Stallone being punched out by Stephen Sigal, who then ingests poison.

However. GST was actually a bright idea, unfortunately.

Face it. Howard was better than Rudd is.
Simply because of the Eyebrows.

Yes. They have their own capital.

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.
