Yep. I always forget that I'm a lumbering giant compared to most people, because I'm the short one in my family. My dad's half a foot taller than me, and my 10 year old sister comes up to my shoulders already.

How tall ARE you? You look tall but that may just be because you're a lanky gal. My boyfriend is proportionate but only 5'4. In pictures without references he looks tall, at least comparatively.

I'm about 1.8m (6') tall (though I haven't measured myself recently), and my dad is 2m (6'6) exactly.

I'm about 1.8m (6') tall (though I haven't measured myself recently), and my dad is 2m (6'6) exactly.

I'm also 6' tall, but look considerably taller if photographed next to a miniature horse.  And look considerably shorter if photographed in one of those novelty oversized rocking chairs.

According to same source, average height of Russian male is 5'9''.

Huh, weird. I must've got that first impression because I mostly hang out around people my age, who are overall taller than their predecessors.
Now that I think of it, majority of the people I know who are more than 10 years older than me are also shorter than me. My parents, my professors, my boss.
