Carlton Draught isn't all that bad, even if it does taste like wet dog... certainly much better than what a lot of popular beers taste like. Eugh.

So I was having a beer with my uncle, my brother and my dad, and we had three different beers. a Carlton Cold, which was essentially Draught but nicer, something called a Heckler or something from Bavaria, and a craft beer called "Old Time Brewing", which was by far the most interesting. Interesting, strong chocolatey malt flavours, and the beery-ness was delicate and almost wine-like. Quite a nice beer, and it's pretty close to where we are, in Camberwell.

Edit: And of course I must also express my disappointment over Helgo's lack of beardliness. At least he apparently drinks a lot!

Well, the story was that Helgo and a friend of him came over for a bicycle race/student festival we got going here. We spent most of our time at the philosopher fraternity's bar, where Helgo and his friend got properly smashed drinking 8,4% Triple Karmeliet as if it was 4.8% Kölsch.

After a night that included the worst pick-up line ever by Helgo ("Can I see what's written on your butt?"), a quick spell in church to pray at the all-night Adoration of the Lord and reading concentration camp poetry, Jens pretty much collapsed in a corner, I which point I brought him back hom, put him to bed and went back to the philosophers.

A short while later, I came back to myself go to bed (I was fairly smashed myself), and Helgo was still awake, so he joined us in the living room for one last beer, refusing to dress again in the process.

I like to think he was enlightened by all that Belgian beer, because he promptly threw his Kölsch on the ground.

Also, I don't see why you guys just assume he was drunk. The next day we spent much time watching nazi propaganda dressed in skirt and dresses and we were perfectly sober.

Well, as I remember it, I was still awake trying to get to sleep when you guys came into the room I was sleeping in and started drinking and chatting there. What did you want me to do, not join in?

I admit that I simply lacked the necessary coordination for putting on pants though. Then again, naked drinking is best drinking anyways...
