By making a rudimentary assumption that all lighting was representative of underlying surface normals and the (very much incorrect) assumption that all materials in the image were the same, I could extract a very rough surface estimate by using surface normals as a slope. But hey, it managed to extract some semblance of depth to render as a heightmap. Though due to the position of the light source, it was largely limited to the lower right quadrant of the image. Though the hard specular reflection on the eye managed to throw off its nearby area pretty badly. Pretty sure with a blur prepass to remove some noise combined with a few more material properties, you might actually get a shape something close to resembling a human.
