I'm fine with "they", in fact I probably use it as often as he/she.
Anyone using "xe/xir" is a colossal fuckwad, though, I sincerely hope that is not a real thing.

What's wrong with singular 'they'? It has a long and storied history for all you prescriptivists out there, and it's in very common use to satisfy descriptivists. So it should be fine unless your preferred period of English is the 19th century, in which case I hope to greatly anger you with this clause.

That's cool, I approve. Also, I too would say that does look like Trotsky in the background. Also, Tolstoy on the right? But I might be shooting in the dark here, I'm not that knowledgeable in famous Russian people and all.

No, these are some soviet scientists. Trotsky was my first thought as well, so I checked it. Can't remember their names already, though. One thing I know for sure is that it's an operable Watt's steam machine which requires real tiny logs as fuel!

There were also some posters of the "To drink or not to drink? Sure, drink!"  kind and a wall calendar for 2004.
