I suppose it's not surprising to most of you, but here in Moscow, they're rare. Plus, those guys have an organ and hold concerts sometimes.
My tablet is really not suited to taking photos at night.

We've got a church like that in Saint-Petersburg, but it's smaller and pig ugly.

Wait, Orthodox churches don't have organs?

At a guess, the Roman Catholic church buildings are older and more likely to have pipe organs. Orthodox churches might be more recent and therefore have electronic organs instead.

That's... not really it. This particular church is late 19th century, I think, and most Orthodox churches in Moscow are ~17th century, even though there are much older examples, like the the Andronicus monastery which is 15th-ish. In Russia, Orthodox churches are likely to be much older than the rare Catholic or Protestant ones.
The actual reason is that the organ is not exactly widespread in Eastern Orthodox musical tradition. Some churches have them, but they're more likely to be recent additions. They have several very complicated and exquisite choral systems, though.

Or some Valaam chants - gotta love the relative simplicity compared to other Znamenny chants.
