...Y'know Tintin reminded me of that ol' cartoon about a reporter and his pet dog, Snowy.

The nostalgia hits like a...forceful thing. :v

I remember that Tintin. He was pretty cool, actually. But Smiley Yim is better.

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

That comic would be so different if the policemen wore Tintin instead of their usual hats...

I've only got to see the movie of Tintin, I need to go find more of it, cause it's great.

I'd suggest Tintin in Congo for a good dose of old-fashioned racism. Tintin in the land of the soviets is also pretty fun as far as prejudice goes. While doing the Blue Lotus, Hergé actually realized he was a prejudiced bigot and the following are not nearly as funny. Also, his drawing sucks (Well, by modern graphic novel standard, it was pretty sharp back in the 40's.)

These are the only ones I own. Congo is ludicrously racist, and Soviets is basically propaganda, but they're both pretty funny.

Isn't that kinda like saying Einstein sucks at physics, because our knowledge of Physics has far surpassed his?

Well, more like saying that if you want physics, you should read something more recent than Einstein.

The style is rather typical of Belgian comics I guess, but they're basically dying out anyway.

Knowing Belgium, everyone will vote for themselves out of mistrust for anyone else, and some kind of weird direct democracy coalition will need to be formed from 11 million or so individuals.

At this point I'm going to disagree. The style is typical of Flemish comic. (At least the drawing). It is a little-known fact that each part of Belgium got a large but radically different comic industry. Comics on the French-speaking side have always been more craft, while those on the Flemish side were more industry. As a result, the diversity of drawing style is much bigger in the French-speaking side, with many more "experimental" comics.
