I've come to realise that a shaven skull actually requires MORE maintenance than just a normal hairdo. So I'm growing it out, again.

My jowls refuse to grow the fuzziest of peaches and my chin is bald from that one time I almost choked on my tongue.  doesn't allow me to grow a full beard in proper :[

I tried for a bit (lazy yay) but I get patchy fuzz on my cheeks and it looks like crap.

Sounds about right. Although, it was "crazed woodsman" more often than not, which was quite apt as I was working at a lumber mill for the first part of my summer break.

And I wish I had your beard growing abilities. Even the third picture is slightly beyond my abilities. Though maybe that's just because I tend to shave everything off when I see a few hairs out of place, since I'm not quite sure how one properly trims a beard. Do you use scissors?

I personally use this little pair of nail scissors because of the curve in them, and I prefer to do it manually. Most other people I know who trim their beard use an electric razor though, and they tell me that I'm an idiot for not. It's really up to you. As for growing beards, when you're going from cleanshaven to having a beard, it's probably not going to grow evenly, so don't worry all that much about that. The only thing is that you're probably going to have to put up with looking like a bit of a dork until it's long enough to even out
Hell, the right side of my face has always grown a bit slower than the left side.

I sadly have not inherited my dad's beard-growing capabilities. Then again, neither did I inherit his early baldness... I guess I can't complain.
I seem to have a pretty much bald patch on the front of my chin. When an occasional hair does grow there I get all excited, but it never amounts to anything. I have two tufts on the bottom... corners of my chin, I guess, that grow faster than the rest of my face, a nasty neckbeard, and a feeble attempt at a moustache.
Oh and a tiny little patch of hair right below my bottom lip, which I try to encourage as much as possible.
It's still pretty sad, and I'm envious of those of you with awesome facial hair!
