More or less xD I basically got a weeks notice for going to Comic Con so threw together what I could via cheap Amazon Prime orders and clothes I already owned Since the new Dresden Files book is out in a couple of days, I figured Harry Dresden was a good choice. Trenchcoat + 5-point Star Amulet + Bracelet + Lots of Black + Big Stick = Quick and Dirty Cosplay

If I had the time and money to put together a Roman Legionnaire cosplay, damn skippy I would be running around Comic Con in armour and a skirt like a boss.

Still haven't actually read the Codex Alera books, though I bought the first one a few weeks ago. I tend to listen to Audiobooks more than read novels nowadays, since I can do that whilst doing other stuff so it lets me multitask. I know there are Codex Alera audiobooks but they aren't available on the UK Audible for some reason :S

Who cares about money? Pick up a 55 gallon blue plastic pickle barrel, a can of silver spray paint and a lorica segmentata pattern (http://www.armourarchive.org/patterns/lorica_quintus/) and you're set to go! Wear over a long t-shirt and make a paper-mache (can't be bothered to hunt down the accenty stuff) helmet. If you're careful, you'll look better than most cosplayers.
