Yeah. The Vikings also worshipped the Great Old Ones. They just mistook them for more humanoid figures. For example, Odin is actually Cthulhu, but depicted with less tentacles in his beard.

From right to left: my sister, me, my cousin and his sister. This was some sort of celebration, a baptism or a wedding of some sort, not even my mother knows exactly. But there you go.

what? Aren't the romantic and germanic languages descendant from different roots?

That might be his point, IIRC Fenno-Urgric (Or Uralic) and Scandinavian (that is, Germanic) languages are ALSO descended from different roots.

They're both indo-european branches along with the Baltic, Slavic, Celtic, Hellenic and Iranian families. As opposed to Finnish/Estonian/Hungarian, which are of the finno-ugric language tree. The only other European language that I can thing of that isn't indo-european is Basque.

Calling any language family "Scandinavian" is somewhat of a misnomer, though.

Hello, Bay12! Long time no see! I've been extraordinarily busy with college, so I haven't been doing much posting. (Some lurking, though.) I'm hoping that next quarter will be a bit easier, so I can re-introduce myself. This is what I looked like last March or so when I gave myself a haircut. That was just before I kinda faded out of here for a year.

In one of the upper lounges of a campus building, preparing to turn in my lab notebook after the first day of finals week. Hair is kind of a mess at the moment, I've been growing it out. (A little.)

How's things? And is that a post by Descan? I seem to remember a dark time when you had left us, but I rejoice in your return. I'm glad that I see so many familiar usernames around. One of these days I'm going to make a big post about what I've been up to, but the short of it is that I got thrown into one of the most advanced science classes at this fine college and I was only moderately prepared for it. I've been enjoying the challenge, but it sure has eaten up my free time.
