He was somewhere around 11-12 years old, and stopped eating.  Snakes are pretty resilient for the most part, but when something does go wrong, there's not much you can do.

Ball pythons are pretty awesome.  Incredibly docile.  Mine was barely even head shy.  He would let you peel shedding from his face, if you were gentle enough about it.

Yeah, sometimes it is pretty unpleasant to look at my own hand. It makes me shudder to think about. And it really sucks when I hit that pinky on something while I'm at work, and all the joints pop, even that messed up knuckle. Not fun.
