So turns out mums quails had chicks, and they are adorable. Just like chicken chicks, but smaller. We are keeping them safe inside the house for the time being.

They are so cute... They were crying all this morning, so I went out and caught a female with the hope she would adopt them. Wasn't sure how it would work, as they already smell like human and some birds are very picky about their young, but she was more than happy to look after them. Right now all ten are sleeping under her, a rather large flock for a single mum.

I like birds.

Kangaroos are chill, unless they're angered.

I should head up to Cardinia Reservoir Park one of these days, they have a sizable kangaroo colony that lives on the walls of the reservoir.

Don't worry, quail have extremely weak senses of smell. About 1/250th the strength of a human. I think they'll be fine, and good on you!
