Kangaroos can swim, dog's can paddle. Agitated dog chases kangaroo and it is understandably freaking out. Dog follows 'roo into water, 'roo drowns a bitch.

Why not? They're mean bastards.

Tasty though.

In other news, here is a picture I took in Sassafras, north east of Melbourne. Kangaroos can sometimes be found around here, too.

Very, very wide image (3200x900 i think).

The photos are beautiful. The roos make me hungry. I have never tasted the flesh of the springy beast, but I am compelled.

They're very, very gamey, and very good for you by meat standards.

I do enjoy roo meat, but it can be hard to get hold of. It is very lean, so I find it goes best with a sauce, like quandong...

I don't know what that is, but a cursory Google search shows me that I know off the top of my head how to make a raspberry creme sauce that would likely go very well with roo.

The meat is mildly spongy. Not unlike beef, but with a springy texture and a very iron-y taste. It's very gamey too, as Blargityblarg said. Roo goes well with most anything that a lightly cooked beef would. It goes best with sweet, fruity sauces (quandong, raspberry, etc).

There's a definite aftertaste too, which is not bad.

It's amazing how much that looks like the New Zealand bush. Maybe more deadly things, though.
