For some reason, my brain keeps wanting to meld the cigarette and the can of furniture polish into a very large, odd-looking pipe. And then I think, "I'm strong to the finish, 'cause I eats me spinach, I'm Popeye the Sailor Man!"  :P

Oh gods, now I can't unsee it. I have no complaints.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Not much shorter I hope, because when you mentioned Joan of Arc I was really worried you meant this. Thankfully, women's definition of short hair seems to be different from mine.

Lordy, no.  That's my beloved German teacher's haircut, and I'm not going to infringe on her turf (she does look great with it, though!).

But this is the haircut historically associated with her

Sadly, my hair will never be that straight and organized without massive chemical damage, so I'm just going to say "faugh, it's respectably short" and move on, maybe chop myself some bangs later if I really think they're necessary.

God, I'm so glad I'm not living in the 1800s, so that I actually wouldn't have been able to cut it all off.

Thanks, everyone, for your compliments and encouragement >.<

*sigh* Well, here goes my anonymity.

Couple of older ones first (2007):

More recent one (2011):

EDIT: Something I just noticed. These photos (especially the latter two) showcase my ginormous hands. Seriously, in middle school between that and my impressive arm length, people used to say I was part orangutan.  :-\

Redking, your daughter's expression is adorable. Looks like one of those "don't take a picture taken of me!" faces. Also, yay China Smog. I've never really seen skylines of urban China... that's pretty sad, actually :/

I was too nauseated by the Jaguars sweatshirt to notice you had hands much their size relative to your body.
They look average to me.

Don't feel sad for losing your anonymity. You look like a pretty cool person. Surprising lack of being a weirdo too.

Hey RedKing, I'll say one thing for sure - that is DEFINITELY your daughter.

Does that mean now you are famous (as in Bay12 famous) that your daughter can claim you as a celebrity look-a-like?

Cool pictures, by the way  8)

Yeah, she definitely favors me, whereas our son favors his mother's side of the family.

I look light-years more 'normal' than I used to. Used to have hair halfway down my back, weighed about 30-40 lbs less, wore heavily tinted glasses and dressed almost exclusively in shades of black and grey.
