Well, my personal accent winds up with a pronunciation sort of like "VAL'allah," so it's actually not as bad.  Still sounds a little bit awkward, I'll agree... but you know what?

She or he can live with it.  Like mom, like child.

Of course, I'm not planning on having kids, so this is probably a moot point.  Cat #2, I guess, because Cat #1 is already going to be named after Professor Poland.  Because I have horrible taste.

I have never met someone for whom "cat lady" was an aspiration.

If you want more, my friend just picked up 8 kittens. And by picked up, I mean that it turns out that the cat she got wasn't spayed. Oops.

I'm positively DYING in cuteness.

I aspire to own a ragdoll (SO FLOPPY) one day, but I will probably adopt as I can't morally justify paying hundreds to own a purebred while perfectly adorable cats are unable to find a loving home or liquidated.

This is my soon-to-be Sister-in-law's adopted Ragdoll. He weighs as much as a small toddler, managed to sneak in approximately 2 litters of kittens before he was fixed (9_9), and is a total ass. I remember taking care of him back when he was a tiny thing that could fit in my hand. He was still an ass, just forgivably more adorable.

Ragdoll.

Ragdolls are amazing. Pick them up and they flop, set them on the table and they flop, place them on your lap and they flop. They're just so unresistant/lazy/good-natured. My favourite cat breed. Works well with my favourite dog breed as well - Newfoundlands.
