I envy you Americans and your fancy back yards. We have some bushes and a tree here, oh and grass lots of grass.

Most of our back yard is cemented over.  The rest of it is contaminated by lead, so we can't grow anything there.

Everything is in pots and containers and stuff, especially because we're renters and may need to move with little notice... but we still manage to pull down a pretty good crop =)

And yes, come visit the US!  It's pretty nice here.  Not fabulous, but still nice.

You know, you keep saying that you envy Americans. Do a foreign exchange for a year and see how nice it is over here. :P
I spent eight of my fifteen years California. If things haven't changed since then, It should still be awesome. But I don't know, I may just be "homesick" or something.

e- don't get me wrong though, things are mighty fine over here, I'll post some pictures when I get  a new camera.

You know, I do have to say that my particular embark site isn't so bad. Although, everyone in the media seems to think we're Canadian. We do love our hockey, but Canada can keep curling.

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

Is crops a euphemism for your chest hair or something?

Pretty much the only thing I can grow with any proficiency is chest hair. :P
It would seem so.

Envious? Don't stare too long...it'll draw you in with its powers of fascination. Not so much as Japa's mustache, but hey, we have to have something while we wait. :P

No. Wheat. Hectares and Hectares of Wheat. And sorghum and barley and chickpeas.

They're hard, shrivelled, and about half a centimetre in diameter each, so I'm hoping not yours.

Of Sushi and Kittens:

Went to a Sushi place on campus with my friend. We had Eel and Shitake Mushroom rolls, and two of the house specials... one was fish, crab, and tofu wrapped in a thin rice-paper dough and served with a complex sweet/spicy/tangy sauce, and the other was a long roll with crab and cream cheese fried in tempura, cut lengthwise, and topped with a bit of a thick, sweet sauce.

I've also been pondering getting a cat for close to a year now, so when my roommate's folks found an abandoned Feral/Barn Kitten a few days back, I was all about taking care of it. She's extremely skinny for her age, and I've been in hardcore Wildlife Rehabilitator mode while fixing her up. Yesterday was full of cleaning, feeding, playtime, and a few simple tests to get a gauge on her health. Today I took her in for her first vet visit, for shots and all that business. Though I've still got a few worries, things are looking pretty good... if only she'd start eating more!

We haven't come up with a name for her yet, but I'm aiming for something atypical. I'm considering a few mythological names right now, but the trouble is finding one my roommate agrees on.

Spoiler: SUDDENLY KITTENS (click to show/hide)
