I actually don't wear glasses at all when I read. I can only see about a foot in front of my face before my eyes lose all detail, but I try not to wear glasses when I can avoid it (which, unfortunately, is not often). I just situate the book close enough to see, and push the limit of my focus for a bit of eye exercise.

Usually after I've been off the glasses for a bit, I can hold a book at a comfortable distance, and bring it into focus. Pretty sure it's better for my eyes to not rely on the glasses all the time, when I can avoid it.
