And now I understand why Halindir may have taken offense at being called Swedish-looking...  Since he is Danish, it means that he is in fact not Swedish.  And as a Dane, he is almost as knowledgeable about the Swedish truth as Norwegians are.

Oi!  We've got 'hyggelig' too!  And several other untranslatable words to boot!

...actually, Danish and Norwegian are exceptionally close languages.  Swedish is also quite similar.  However, all three languages have wildly different manners of speech, so just because the words may be similar doesn't mean that you can understand them all in one go.

Beer, however...  Yeah.  We're kinda lacking on the alcohol field.  Sure, we've got enough of it, but it's horrifically expensive and difficult to get hold of, and most of the beer is surprisingly lackluster.

And for such lackluster beer, going out and paying $10 a glass at a (reasonably priced!) pub isn't exactly fun.  Especially when combined with the Norwegian capacity (and penchant) for alcohol consumption.

We've got beautiful women, cheap GOOD beer (about $4 a glass in a reasonable pub, $2 a bottle in a store) and good music. We've also got shitty weather, annoying politicians and cold, shy and unfriendly people but I don't mind, I'm quite used to it. Also our "eastern vikings" from the island of Saaremaa kicked some serious ass back in the 10th or 11th century. If some people think that we're closer to latvians and lithuanians (being called the Baltic countries etc.) I personally have always felt as a part of the Northern countries and more close to Finland and Sweden.
