Wow, that looks like it must've been fun. What were the objectives there? Were you a neutral 3rd party in their conflict, or were you involved in the defending as well?

This is a bit late, but:

Regarding the Post-Apoc game
The civilians were the "Game-Master/Admin faction, our (covert) role was to plant cash, artifacts, devices and advance the plot of the game, alongside game-moderation, of course.
Our in-game role was indeed as a neutral 3rd party in the conflict that could be of course assaulted and conquered.
We also had the only "marketplace", and since the other factions started with seriously low ammo supplies, scavenging and questing for us was highly recommended.


As for the big event with the airplanes, wow, that was every bit as complex as a real conflict goes.
Aside from the Red vs Blue vs Green base conflict, there were capturable villages, hospitals, fueling stations, mortars, RPGs, pyrotechnics, airstrikes, in-game currency, assassination side-missions for the more covert ops, infiltrated agents.... enough to make your head spin.
Luckily most of it was on need-to-know basis, and me being just a grunt....

Simulated airstrikes, mind you, but nah. Those are a regular thing at our events. And gathering all the requirements for such a thing is pretty damn hard .

Besides, there's a couple of us here with a zombie-apocalypse event in-planning, fully open, no factions, no rules.
It includes entry on the play field without water, food, and only with one side arm, with one full clip of ammo.
All the rest must be scavenged.

That may be taking it a bit too far.
