You have no idea how many times I've heard that. That and "Hhave you ever tried swapping classes? hur hur hur" Believe it or not, that plan would fail almost instantly. I go to school with less than 500 other people. I have classes with maybe 70 of them. They all know me pretty well, and would recognize me from my brother. The only time I can remember something like that working was when I had a track meet to go to on the same day that tuition was due down at the community college. I had my brother steal my I.D. card and coat (to match the one in the picture), and had him enter all my personal info and such so that I wouldn't get dropped from my classes.

I wasn't thinking school, for exactly those reasons. Get creative! The possibilities are wide-ranging.

Yes I'm totally the kind of person who pays twenty thousand dollars to purchase a stick of steel.

Sarcasm aside, it ran me 350 dollars, which is the basic threshold for adequate quality blades.


(I can sort of see where this is leading and before someone comes out and says 'Well unless you had the specs it's probably crap,' I did check and it has full tang, is heat tempered and has a proper AISI of a number I cannot remember.)

I did the math in a RPG related katana thread at one point, after ~40 folds the average thickness of each layer would be less than the width of an iron atom.

That would depend on how well the armor protected the samurai. If it's something like a chainmail bikini, but made of wood... yeah.

I remember starting a popular thread on /tg/ once where I basically just said that the katana is good at its job, if not exceptional, and I liked it.

No rage, either, just people copypastaing my post, which was a nice feeling somehow.

That would depend on how well the armor protected the samurai. If it's something like a chainmail bikini, but made of wood... yeah.

Against a bastard sword I don't think it would protect well at all. Wouldn't the bastard sword probably just crush/splinter the wood? It's kinda like getting hit with a bladed hammer.

They're called bokken. You can get them a few thousand places on the intertubez, for about $20.

Edit: Unless, of course, you are looking for tsuburito, which tend to be a little more expensive, but bigger.
