Residents of Rock Bottom all speak by blowing a raspberry in between words. When SpongeBob tried to speak normally to the fish at the bus station, the fish did not understand his "accent".

But actually though, I was in first grade in March 2000 when that episode came out.

I was almost graduated from high school. By that point, I'd stopped watching TV all together, except for sports. I spent all of my free time practicing kendo, fighting, and fighting some more. It's also the year I started work on the first alpha version of my tabletop game.

This much is true for me as well... but I had 3 younger siblings and since had two kids, so I'm familiar enough with Spongebob.  Don't know that episode, though.

Now Pete & Pete... that was a great kid's show.

(Fun Fact:  It's theorized that the opening theme is about the Kent State shooting)
