I think raiders will attack idlers tomorrow.

Crazy question - In the future, might we be able to build wonders, artifacts, secret projects or however you want to call them? These things are a common trope in Civ games, but I can see some problems with their inclusion.

No. I wouldn't know how to balance them properly, and I never much cared for them in the Civ games.

Yeah, balance would be tough. Had to ask, though. :)

I'll aim to get a turn up today, complete with idlers getting hit hard by raiders.

Beanchubbs, Inteuniso: You have 24 hours to each get a second, or be booted from the game and replaced.
I will probably accept applications only after I boot, giving priority to those who have already posted their desired civilization.
Knight Otu: You will not be required to get a second so long as you continue to post turns in a timely manner, but it is encouraged.

I had hoped that someone watching the threads would offer to second. That said, I have an idea where I might get a second. They'd most likely have to register here first, though, if one of them considers seconding.

I'm supposed to get a second? Nobody offered to be my second though.

Anyways, sorry for taking so long. I had a bit of schoolwork to do, but I should be fine the rest of the game.

Despite the fact that I would like to have a civ, I'd say that you should give them a little longer to find a second rather than kick them out.

Alright. I really shouldn't be so quick with ultimatums anyway. New rule: Failure to post within three days/when-I'm-ready-to-write-the-turn without having a second results in a strike. Two strikes results in a kick. Very good reasons might remove one strike. Inteuniso does not get a strike this turn, but Beanchubbs probably will.

Lurking is a serious danger to the game though. The more lurkers there are, the less excited I feel the player base is, which makes me less inclined to post turns faster, which makes more lurkers. It's like a tantrum spiral, but without the magma.

I'm writing the turn up now.

Of course, I'm lurking, but that's because I has nothing to do.

I'm thinking of a good civilization to use if/when someone decides to drop.

Sounds good Nirur. Sorry about the long time for a turn.

Red, you sure that you don't want to join up with me? You would get in faster, and I would let you control the military and/or the first new city.

2 wood for a canoe, + whatever weapons/armor you give the crew of 100.

Canoes are like military units, but can only travel on the water. Good for exploring and establishing trade, but mostly ineffective in battle.

All rivers lead out to sea.

Hmm, giant capybara cavalry.... yeah, I know, I don't have the techs for that yet.

Anyway, are there any general drawbacks to upgrading units with new equipments or having them train an ability? I assume that heavy equipment would make squires necessary as described in the rules post, and units won't be able to follow any other active commands, but beyond that?

Okay guys, I accidentally posted in the game thread, because I forgot I was supposed to post here. Sorry! I reported it to the moderator for deletion...

Also, this is kinda overshadowed by the whole epic failing thing, but could I sign up?
