American society is in a freakout about pedophiles which means that if you get labeled as a sex offender there are strict limitations on what jobs you can hold where you can live and your name is on a list open for the general public to look at.  How do you think the system should be set up?

My uncle was recently registered as a sex offender.  The limitations are pretty extreme.  No cell phones, no computer, no devices with a means of storing electronic media of any kind, and anyone you live with has the same restriction.  You can get permission to have one, but doing so subjects anything of the type to being searched at any time for any reason.  The rules are pretty extreme, but then again the crime is pretty extreme.  If you rape a child, I'm not sure I want you living around me or my future kids, least of all if I don't know about it.

Of course, there are a lot of things that get you registered that maybe shouldn't.  It's an extremely touchy subject, and isn't easy to get around.

I know hey! We have public urinals around where I live. Which is to say, urinals in the middle of the street. Although they are pretty cool, I think it is slightly gender-biased.

I am also of the opinion that this topic will lead to a bad fight of some kind, but I'll try to be contributory.

If there is a problem with Sex Offender legislation in America, it's that it's stupidly easy to be put on the Registered Sex Offender List, and nearly impossible to be taken off it.  Ergo, it's now packed with thousands of people who likely never should of been listed in the first place, and plenty more who's lives were ruined over a technicality.  I remember a story from a few years ago, of a woman in Nevada who was arrested when a neighbor accused her of having sex with dogs.  Not only was the evidence brought against her spurious and illegally acquired, it turns out that, as far as the case was concerned, Nevada doesn't even have a law against whatever actually happened.  (Freedom in your own home of some sort.)  The police were as baffled as the accuser and defendant, but they had to release her on no charge.  She was put on the Sex Offender list anyway as a perfunctory action of the legally-false accusal and was nearly forced to move out of town.

You're right, man.  You're right.  People are going to pee all over themselves because they can't just go in the street.  Not sure why this hasn't been a problem in the decades that people haven't been peeing in the street, it must just be biding its time.

People pee in the street. Mostly drunk people and hobo's, but it happens. And then, you're walking along minding your own business and you step in hobo pee.
