ICG NEWS
NEWS: Whales Extinct!
Or thinning, I don't know. The point is, naval authorities (looking at you, smokestack!) have placed restrictions on whaling. Industry analysts suggest that this 'may' lead to a decline of whale-based products, such as soap, lamp oil, and prosthetic -hem hem. This may be good news for those in the non-organic oil business, as dinosaurs can hardly become retroactively extinct; prices may rise this quarter for Oil Products. (But watch out! With MIS's special offer, production may rise, causing prices to drop again!)
MIS back in business, with 50% off surveying!
Mercenary Industrial Services is back in business again, and is celebrating with an exciting special offer. A telegram tied to a brick dropped onto our roof by an unmarked stealth plane informs us; "[...] We have shaken off the authorities for now, and are inaugurating our secret volcano base in [CENSORED] with 50% off oil and mineral surveying services [...]"
Surveying usually costs 100CR for a standard package. All other services are operational as well. Catalogues are available via ICG HQ.
News is happening again
Hooray; whaling laws and MIS offers; life is back to normal. Remember folks; crazy shit can happen whenever, and cannot always be read about before hand in the newspaper. Keep some credits at hand for a rainy day!
Anyway. See you in when the leaves go orange! (or anywhere between bright red and radio-wave-emitting, depending on polution levels)
Ok.
I have probably made several calculation errors. Do tell if I have.
Also.
-Those who went turnless; you just produced stuff.
-PenguinOverlord, where do you want that mine?
-Surveying; MIS service. Standard cost: 100CR. Choose a region and a resource (Oil/Ore). The surveyors will increase the output of that resource in that region for the turn. Usually +1 per D6.
-MIS services are purchased via PM. MIS actions and buyer will be announced at turn change. [Or not. I dunno. Maybe actions, and how much each player spent on MIS, but not who bought what. What do you think?]
-Whaling laws will probably increase Oil Products prices next turn (refined oil).
Not Oil,
or plastic.
Anyway. Questions welcome, as are suggestions and criticism. Actions for turn 2 are even more welcome.
EDIT: True to my word I made a stupid calculation error; I forgot to apply the market's cruel tendency to buy low (10% less) and sell high (10% more). The mistake has been rectified; 5 and 7, who sold metal, have been charged 46CR for the honour of selling it.
