Yeah, this is the page to mash F5 on.  Although it'll be another couple weeks at least:

It's not like it's going to be out in a week or something, but it won't take forever either.  There really are a lot of requests and miscellaneous items that have accumulated over the last more-than-a-year (hundreds of them), and I've just got to order these and decide what must go in and what's out this time.

There were talks by the community to make a .torrent of the new version, this would ease the strain on Toadys servers, which are so going down.
To be really effective Toady would have to create the torrent himself.
Having to download 100KB~ instead of 20 - 30MB would... Well.

Yea, yesterday or the day before, the forum and the site were acting glacially slow, with the forum later coming up as bieng under maintenance.

The forum periodically throws a server has been reset error as well.

Personally, I'll be reading tea leaves, because they're at least as accurate as any other method of guesstimation. Although I am starting to get concerned about the release coinciding with impending childbearing...

I support this service and/or product. Though, he wouldn't necessarily need to do the torrent himself. Couldn't the community help the server by making their own torrent file and hosting it for a while? I'm sure we could get a couple dozen people willing to be seeds; I know I would.
