I just lost a crap load of people on an above ground fort because I couldn't effectively order them inside.

I cant wait.  No more hunting down and melting every single inferior quality armor just so my champions won't wear an old (-Iron Plate Mail-) they found somewhere.  No more watching elite marksdorfs charge into battle because they are carrying 3 shields and a crossbow for no reason.  No more fighting with worldgen to try for an interesting map with features.
