You know that feeling...of seeing unique, ETERNAL game incoming..probably.
Unbelieveable.

Now, i am going to read it again.

This:

The standard amount of layers (around 15) has been scrapped and increased dramatically, upwards of 50-100 layers.

And this:

# Features are much more easy to discover, and almost every site is guaranteed to have SOMETHING interesting in it

    * For instance, magma is almost always guaranteed to be at the very bottom layer

Omg. I so want to dig down now! Usually I am building aboveground forts because I like action around my structures, but now it will be possible to have cave cities and magma towns! Naaaw why did you make me to read that >.<

Liquid spatter can now accumulate.

Does this mean I can have an area filled with blood if I torture someone over a grate?

Also, I saw that we can now flay creatures alive. Awesome.

As the author of that document, I give you (or anyone) full permission to use as much content from it as you want.

There are now "code generated" positions, such as priests who are named after the god they worship (Priest of Ciramore, etc.)

I see what you did there

FYI, it's standard to only wikify the first instance of a topic word - you made "material" into a link like seven times.

Yeah, I know general standards.  I did it in a sort of automated way when I first wikified it.

Obviously there are a lot of things missing but most people not that familiar with wikis like to expand articles more then create them.  So I'm going to use the notes of what is to come to start up pages that people can expand on.  I've found this helpful in wikis I've worked on for other games that haven't been released yet.

I set up a table of some of the data about the new nobles/positions:

Awesome! What's particularly good-lookin' for me is that dwarves can use all types of weapons (I hadn't heard about this before) and the whole alterable z-level number. I can see my dwarvish pikemen in bright red uniforms marching up and down already...

Looking at the grid of nobles' positions, may I ask what the 'do_not_cull' string means - or rather, what'd they do with a 'do_cull'? Ominous!

If you go up to someone and beat the hell out of them with thread, you not only defeat them, you shame them and their entire family for generations to come (providing that there are any survivors).
Various mouths were involved, and a soda can and a penny I think.

I think it means that these people are not culled from worldgen info in any case. So you don't get a civ led by "unknown creature".

You forgot the mandate and demand info for the Baron which I just put in.

Thanks!

I added the rest of the data-like information in the raws into another table:

http://dwarffortresswiki.net/index.php/Notes_on_new_positions#Notes

I'm going to do the rest in a more prose style, closer to the current nobles page.

I'm merely halfway through reading that wiki page, but all i can say is:

wow.

in more detail:

woooooooow.

Seriously, there is only one thing left to do now. Pull the lever that releases the cage holding this beast so the dogs surrounding it can finally have their meal. ppppp-leeease. (assumes a begging pose staring with the cutest puppy face there is)

Okay now, back to reading the wiki. It might very well be, that i burst into a full blown prayer, if the second half is as good as the first one.

Hospitals, random creatures, custom burrows, custom emergency orders, guaranteed underground features, 100 UG z levels, poisons, Titans, random creatures?!

Toady has outdone himself. I'm giddy with anticipation.
