Fortress for the sheer intent of building noble-killing machines?

I'm in. All the other successions I sign up for seem to die out before reaching my turn.

Sure, I was planning on spending some time redoing it myself but you're welcome to redo it yourself.

Great, I've replaced the original story with it. Now we just need to wait for some new members.

Okay, one more person and we'll embark, seeing as noone seems to care about what we take I'll just use a basic setup.

A miner, a mason, a carpenter/brewer/cok, a planter.

Get some wood (~10-20), so you don't have to bring an ax and a woodcutter this way. Also, I vote for embarking without anvil.

I never needed one in first 2-3 years, anyway :P

It's not an embark so much as seven dwarves having a simultaneous strange mood and going off to build an artifact fortress that menaces with spikes of awesome and hanging rings of death.

Okay, I'll start my turn now.
EDIT: The saves will be in D16, if it matter to any of you.
EDIT 2:
The Embark
Spoiler: Embark Location (click to show/hide)
We been sent to this location for the expedition, it has a magma pipe, part of a chasm, a bottomless pit and it is reported that adamantine is in the northeast sector. I, Omegastick, have organised the starting equipment with the help of Haspen. The king shall be struck down.
Spoiler: Equipment (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Strike the Earth (click to show/hide)
From not bringing any axes or an anvil we had too much spare money to spend on supplies. So I bought enough food to break the wagon, luckily we were at our destination when it broke so I have ordered it to be dismantled for its wood.
Spoiler: Starting Location (click to show/hide)
It seems that the magma pipe is exposed, this eliminates the need to search for the stuff (thank god) and we can get a smithing industry set up as soon as we have an anvil and some metal working slaves.

OOC: Pure d16, I'm using a tileset that I simply can't get enough of though.

Is it pure d16? I don't mind tilesets, but there's at least one that also changes RAW files ;)

Oh, will d16 saves break if they go back to 40d? I only really play with 40d (I probably should download d16, but the new version is so close that there's not much point of swapping now.)

I can't run d16 (driver issues I think), but I'm fairly sure they're compatible anyway.

And yes, Bisasam's set is brilliant. :)

Adamantine, Oh yes. By the six dwarven tites let me join your triumph! The fortress site is a bit big though. I recommend half the size, double the time fun.
