Ok. I'm done. I think I made it about an hour.

I'm happy to pass the misery around. Who wants to try it next?

Aargargarg, why didn't I check this topic?

I followed Darkfall for ages intending to get it if it ever came out, but the pricetag and mixed opinions when it came out made me decide to hold out for a free trial, which never materialized.

So uh, if head doesn't like it I'll try it.  ;D

I think I did hear some people calling it STD once.  It wasn't because they were passing it around, but more out of a general dislike of the game.

On a somewhat related note, I think WAR should've been called Warhammer Online Adventures.  Then their tagline could be "Why WoW when you can WHOA?"

I didn't find it to be so bad. It isn't the spore of mmos, but damn, it could have been a lot better.

It's another game that makes me feel they consider the general public retarded. Or rather, console-tards.

I think we should continuously pass this around like some kind of bad self-torture succession game.

I also have a Mortal Online acct if anyone wasn't sufficiently turned off from MMORPG's by the last two.

I've been playing the beta for a while now, and got to the point where I got my own "class" ship.
It's not terrible but it needs improvement. I agree that it plays far too much like a single player game. The MMO aspect is small, but there should at least be room to add to it. Missions need more variety too.

In response, graphically it's not terrible. There's a known issue with ATI cards that make the game look like shit. I'm not sure if that's been fixed in any of the beta builds yet, since I'm packing a GeForce :P
On my card it looks downright good.

I've heard the game doesn't really begin until level 11, and so far that seems accurate. Things get much more interesting once you pick up your special ship. The plot is actually getting to be somewhat interesting. I don't mean that tiny little Borg plot you do in the tutorial and never hear anything about beyond that, I mean a real plot involving the Klingons, spanning many multiple missions.

Quick question about Mortal Online since it's not worth it's own thread: How is it so far?

Is it going to live up to be the modern day remake of UO like every one is claiming?

At current MO is pretty unplayable. The awful videos on Youtube are pretty much accurate. The lag is appalling combined with bad mechanics, an alpha build of a UI and you are left with nothing but angry customers on one side and hopeful uber-fans on the other. Could be something some day, but more than likely it won't make it beyond four months live due to charge-backs by customers credit card companies. Would have been nice, but it just isn't worth it.
