Largely invulnerable body
« on: January 22, 2010, 10:18:31 pm »

Hey, I was wondering if anyone has made a humanoid body that's largely invulnerable to damage? or if not, how one would go about making one that appeared human-like, but was near impossible to kill without hacking apart. The tougher the better.

Oh, and if this helps, it's for a Megabeast, but not just for a single one, a basic frame for multiple different ones.

You can do several things:

-Give it [NOBLEED] and [NOBREATHE] (copy them from the Bronze Colossus, I don't know how they're spelled) so that the heart and lungs will not be important to its survival (which allows you to do without them).
-Give it a ton of useless extra dummy limbs or body parts like plating that will decrease the chance that something critical like the head will be hit. [NOPAIN] would help in this case to prevent crippling the creature from the resulting pain of having many vestigial things chopped off.
-Increase its size dramatically. I think size 160 creatures can't be damaged by legendary masterwork adamantine wielding dwarves except by lucky hits. This also increases the raw damage output of the creature.

How about Damblock? I like the sound of the extra parts, but Towering isn't exactly my idea here.

You can give it damblock but that won't really help against piercing damage or just a really luck hit. Dummy parts will however since they make it less likely the head or other essential parts will be hit simply by giving more targets.

And if you want it to be humanoid, I guess you could just give it a hundred thousand toes or something.

Actually, the average head of hair only has about 100,000 hairs, not 5 million.

A: These are Dwarves, hairy beasts from the Mountainhomes.
B: Who said anything about heads of hair? Dwarves have hair in many places.

Getting back on topic though, removing most of the internal organs also helps as the loss of any one of them causes major problems. You will also need some of the special tags that the bronze colossus also has to allow it to survive without organs. In fact, basically recreating the bronze collosus with extra body parts, increased size ,increased damblock and without the sever on breaks tag would create possibly the toughest thing known to dwarvenkind. Also adding extra natural attacks for extra body parts lets the creature continue fighting even when it has lost it's arms in combat. Increasing speed (by decreasing the speed value in the raws) makes the creature even harder to kill with ranged weapons and siege engines as it closes in on its attacks quicker.

Edit:Forgot to mention speed increases to help against ranged attackers.

Don't forget to make it on-fire, a web-slinger, fire-breather, and hyphenated.

With that, and as long as it has the appropriate [NO] Tags, they should be fine. How would you go affixing extra body parts? Such as: Armor built on to the megabeast, fur, hair, blubber, etc?

I've been looking through the Body Tokens trying to figure that out for myself, but there doesn't seem to be a way to add natural armor. I don't think there is one. I would love for a [NATURAL_ARMOR] tag that could be attached to body parts and aid against pierce damage (especially arrows).
