OhmygodthankyousomuchKeevu! I've been looking for that song eversince my friend talked to me about Irish Punk Rock or something. Thank you!

Well it's Finnish Folk Metal actually :)

Alway has been very pleased lately. Alway enjoyed playing Dwarf Fortress Recently. Alway has discovered a new form of music he enjoys.
 ;D

Folk Metal... Finally a genre name! Now I can find awesome music I otherwise could only get in a webcast's weekly preshow I listen to!

Have some turisas

Why am I not surprised that Korpiklaani people know of Dwarf Fortress, despite being fairly successful metal players?

Go them, regardless. Now I need to pop in one of their CD's and make a rock-out room in my fort.

Well not to get toooooooooooooooo specific, but I live like 5-10 minutes from Toady...

I live in Silverdale, WA.

=-P

He may just kill me for that. haha

I'm so entirely jealous Keevu!!!

I wonder if they'll come out to play in Western Washington.

If you want generally good DF oriented music. You could get a Pandora account and type TYR as the station name and just thumbs down the stuff you don't like. It's been really great while playing DF... grown a very strong liking for folk metal/viking music/pirate music/whatever it is you decide to call it.

Epic music is awesome for playing DF. It's like putting your fantasy, which is already working on overtime playing DF, on steroids so everything gets even better. Recommended bands include Tyr, Ensiferum, Equilibrium, Korpiklaani (not during wartime though), Turisas and others. It's just awesome.

Now, if we could only mod Giant War Eagles to carry crossbows, we could do strafing runs on the elves who sold the eagles to us in the first place.

Its an alright song, but I've heard much better. Their video is supposed to be silly and not serious I hope. But it's a song about dwarfs so it's cool. Now Agalloch, Agalloch is awesome. Folk Doom Metal.

Tyr was there also but they didnt play Sinklars visa (my fav song)  but other than that they were pretty good. Tyrs second guitarist (the one with black hair) came out during korpiklaanis session and gave everyone in korpiklaani a drink of his bottle of vodka lol.

Thanks for introducing me to this strange European metal stuff...
While I don't think I'd listen to it day to day, it's great for DF.

Most celtic music (whether screaming metal or soft folk) seems to go well with DF.

I don't know that I'd call Agalloch doom metal, but they are indeed awesome. I highly recommend The Mantle to everyone. Yes, *everyone*.

I go LARPing every now and then to a well established Celtic LARP fest. Wenches and Mead (by Alestorm, a scottish band that play music similar to folk metal) is basically the theme song and if someone starts to hum the tune or sing a verse everyone within hearing distance is also heavily obliged to sing as well. It's fun, because that then increases the range of the song and pulls even more people in...

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.
