I'm trying to overhaul the weapons for all of the races, but I've hit a snag - I'm out of imagination. I've already overhauled dwarves and moved on to humans, but I can't figure out what kind of weapons to make. Since, y'know, this stuff might get added to your mod, maybe you can help?

Here's a rundown on what I've decided so far:

Dwarves
-Versatile weapon choices, prefers hammers and axes.
-Several two handed weapon types.
-Limited ranged capability.
-Good shields

Humans
-Prefers pole weapons and spears over swords, hammers, and axes.
-Average ranged capability.
-Elite warriors use swords.
-Good shields

Elves(Sylvan)
-Prefers swords and maces over other weapon types.
-Good ranged capabilities.
-high quality and lightweight weapons.
-low-quality but lightweight shields.

Elves(forest)
-Prefers clubs(maces) and bows over other weapons.
-Can throw their spears.
-Supreme ranged capabilities.
-No shields or armor.

Goblins
Undecided.

Any idea for specific weapons to add?

PS: Yes, I've added Sylvan Elves to my game.

IIRC, the next version will have a much different way of handling weapons in Fortres Mode, which lends itself well to my personal plans.  I want to expand (rather than narrow) the amount of weapons available to each race, but I also want to increase the variety of civilizations with extra entity definitions.  I believe this is similar to what you have accomplished (and forgive me, but aren't sylvan elves and forest elves one in the same?   ;))

As far as specific weapon suggestions go, I would recommend that you do as I am doing and research the various forms of weaponry used throughout the world in all their different varieties.  Not much else could give you better ideas.

I was going to say it too but somehow forgot :)

Quote from: popular encyclopedia :)
Sylvan or Silvan refers to an association with the woods. Specifically, that which inhabits the wood, is made of tree materials, or comprises the forest itself. The term can also refer to a person who resides in the woods or a spirit of the wood.  In mythology, the term also refers to deities or spirits of the woods.

The term in English is from the Latin sylvus or silvus meaning "forest, woods." This root is found in place names in the U.S.A. like Pennsylvania (lit. "Penn's woods") and Spotsylvania. The first names Sylvester and Sylva(i)n, and the female name Sylvia/Silvia, are also from the Latin word.
Sylvan elf = forest elf
