The Game of Gentlemen (working title)
« on: January 21, 2010, 07:55:39 pm »

Recently I've discovered a wonderful game engine called Unity. I have thus been inspired to create a game. My first project will be a sort of "first-person RTS" in the way that the player will directly control the commander of a military force. The goal will be then to outwit and kill the enemy commander using your riflemen, half-tracks, snipers, artillery and of course the almighty tank!  Think of it like chess. Only you're the king. And you can't see the other player's pieces unless your pieces are right next to theirs

Currently this game is in the planning phase and will probobly not be released for a while. The first build of the game will (hopefully) be out before the year's end but it may not. In the final build the features I hope the game will include are:

-network play
-gradual despoliation of the land as the battle progresses
-limited destructible terrain
-a customizable insignia, uniform, weapon load-out and bunker
-the ability to (if things are at their worst) join the fight yourself using any of the weapons that your soldiers can use
-the ability to call in for air support
-junior officers that will question you if you make a foolish decision
-a very minimalistic HUD

Obviously all these features may or may not be implemented depending on whether I discover they are worth it to add in or not.
