Hey, I've been playing DF for a while and finally decided to jump on the forums.
I've gotten through just about all the mundane and not so mundane aspects of the game, and I generally play for concept ideas now. You'll see me around here for a while :P

Thanks. I have the feeling there's an unsettling percentage of DF players who are simultaneously in college for programming and engineering, or have at least played DF enough to deserve a degree in both

Hey Smigen, welcome to the forums.

It's wonderful to see newbies down in GD, we barely get any.

Just a few rules/things you should know:

We tend to be a bit cynical at times.

Things will occasionally go off-the-wall-zany in a thread or two. Don't be alarmed.

We're quite a diverse group, you'll learn more about this eventually.

No demotivators allowed.

Remain chill at all costs.

Consider getting an avatar, so that you're easily recognized. Entirely optional.

Oh, and this forum is so tight-nit as to be disorienting at times. Doesn't mean you won't be welcomed with open arms though.

Its not that big of an accomplishment.

I know around half of the people who post in GDs name, and i call that famous.

In due time, I take it as the 'screw what society thinks' kind of creepy, compared to the 'I smell peoples hair as they walk by' kind?
