Quick Question; how do you lock in adventuring in Adventure mode? Saves me making a new thread.

If you mean joints, you press A, then Enter to get the wrestle inquiry, choose your target, and grab onto a breakable appendage. Once you have it in your grip, get back into the wrestling menu(A,Enter,a/b/c...) and choose the lock option for whatever you are holding. Do it again, and you should get the break option, if you have a successful lock.

I have long believed that JS Bach's Little Fugue in G for Organ is a very appropriate tune for exploring or even excavating caves. But its a little serene, so it wouldn't do for all of those times when you stumble across a GCS.

well, music triggers two main things about dwarf fortress in me:
1: the desire to play.
2:the desire  for the finished version.
Both of these for the possibilities of epic stories.
So about anything from Blind guardian goes since they have such epic music(lust for epic battles between goblins and dwarves), the songs touch of red and march to the shore by
In Flames. There's if it bleeds, we can kill it by Austrian death machine, mostly megabeast hunting that one drives me to.  Colony of birchmen by mastodon for giant killing specifically.
OOoh there's lots more...lots, but I will spare you for the insane list.

A lot of Nightwish's music because it is medieval-themed and I listened to it while I was learning to play the game.

If you are fighting a megabeast, The Chosen Ones by Dream Evil is THE epic fight music. There are videos of game/movie trailers edited so that they fit the music and it's just great.

Then there's the spartan theme for Champion vs Orc battles: "Just Like You Imagined" by Nine Inch Nails
