the day before tomorrow but not today. Though because my life runs on Irony I think that it will be released on the day before I have a big test and should be studying.

So it seems I accidentally put my canteen in my wheelbarrow and didn't notice... and then I got really thirsty... so right before going to sleep I go to take a swig from my canteen and... end up snorting a line of low-grade meth.

Assuming the universe does revolve around me (I've always suspected so), DF2010 will probably be released the week after next, when I'm in Perth and have less-than-usual computer access.

April 2nd, after prank launch on April 1st.

At least I REALLY hope so, because I have a 2 week holiday starting in 13 days :P

I was one day out, assuming Toady releases EXACTLY when he said he would in the devlog, which is unlikely but :-\

In order to improve the universe's frame rate, we must all throw rocks into volcanoes and then do absolutely nothing, worldwide, for a week, to take pressure off pathfinding.

I would not really miss not being able to play on release day.

It is pretty much guaranteed that there will be several serious bugs that will need fixing. Switch from rock-solid stable version that was around for year is not going to be that great experience imo, so you can consider studying/having life a boon because it saves you frustration of release day crashes and corrupt saves.

To be honest I wasn't expecting a release until well into June.  An earlier release is nice but it sounds like there will be many bugs to deal with.  Fortunately I tend to stick to low populations so I don't think I will have to deal with quite as many as everyone else but we'll see.  Hopefully most of the game stopping bugs will be taken care of in the first couple of weeks.  I just hope I'll be able to get my favorite tile and char sets to work soon after release.

April: 10,000$

(No it doesn't mean I'll donate 10000 bucks if the release is not on April, it means that if toady releases the game next week, April will be the biggest donation month)

I'm still sticking to my March 30th prediction. Sometime in the evening.
