Extension.

I still very much dislike SirBayer's actions.  He seems to be attacking an easy target for an extremely poor reason (use of the word "sheepfollowing", as far as I can tell).

On the other hand, Eduren seems to have flip-flopped dramatically.

I see. It was unfortunate phrasing by myself.

People were getting worked up about your actions and you conceded that things were not as they seemed. Nothing negative in my phrasing.

No flip-flop, re-evaluation. I skimmed over Zai's dictionary quote at first but since Pandar brought it up, I decided that I had no reason to call it unfortunate. Hence why I started the post with "Actually..."

Hey, you see ExKirby here, answering my questions?

Huh, not happening. Don't see it.

Funny, that.

Guess he's town.

dorf's still my main suspect - he is trying to deflect questions. Case in point:

Since I didn't get a reply from MD yet, I am looking into the EK and SB fight.
It's been going on for a while now.

Btw, welcome back, Eduren.
You still haven't explained why you didn't post all this time.

This is evading a question, and trying to put someone else into the spotlight. And that's a scummy move to pull, at least in the circumstances (dorf doesn't drill further for example)
I thought people would be able to figure out from that that I suspect SB and/or EK, but I guess I have to point it out exclusively.

It seems the SB and EK thing is dying out, so I will present my thoughts on it soon.

SirBayer.

I do not believe his attacks are sincere. There is much accusation and screaming, but over such odd things :s
On Day 2 it was potentially useful. But to carry those silly arguments onto Day 3, is just too much.
If he's trying to reaction-gauge, he's failing miserably and should stop it. Actually, he should have stopped a while back. Any continuation of his arguments is just digging a bigger hole.

Supply good arguments or die. I'm going to give you a chance to explain yourself, and then I decide if I'll vote you or not.
I'm not getting anything from MD anyway :\

If you are willing to wait, I can get some analysis going.

I apologize. Once again, I became intimidated by the game.

Things you said last time you were scum: this.  I'm serious--I've never seen you get "intimidated by the game" when you were town.  You were quiet, you asked questions, you were a bit passive... but you never, never tried to make yourself look foolish.

This is a recap of BYOR 1.

For now, my vote is on Pandarsenic for pressure.

Magmadeath for inactivity.

Leafsnail for being all over the place.

dorf for lack of scumhunting

Additional: this is incredibly scummy.  It's a "wide-prep" technique.  You FoS/vote people for almost no reason, so that you can prepare a series of lynches/attacks.  You never actually have to do anything, just votehop your way to a win.

Further, has anyone actually looked at these reasons?  They're shit.  I know you.  You play much better than this.

... And even more, "Vote on Pandarsenic for pressure?"  What pressure?  You didn't actually press him at all.

You're going through the motions, not playing the game.

He was concerned that people were dismissing his votes as sheepish. Scum could have just rolled with it. He felt that his vote meant something and has been trying to prove it. Besides, he has legitimate concerns.

Bayer's your partner, huh?  He gets overexcited about getting called out for simultaneous bandwagoning AND buddying, and proceeds to OMGUS anyone who might have possibly gotten involved.  Of course you defend him... because though ExKirby was playing oddly, Bayer's "concern about his vote" totally vindicates him.

There probably is one other scum somewhere in the tangle of active players. What amazes me is that people widely ignore dorf. He is rather obvious as a scum. So there therefore needs to be a scumbuddy in the herd here who tries to divert attention to other people. You'd for example be a good candidate for this, Vector. Assuming my theory is correct. But that's just a theory thrown out since you haven't really dropped many scumtells, so you're innocent in my book.

SirBayer looks like a punching bag to me here. And then there are the people who voted eduren and didn't do anything once he returned now. Once again, you are in that crowd, Vector. You voted eduren for lurking, he returned, you jump onto the next lurker - me. That isn't really an impression of being a townie as you are avoiding active scumhunting.

So, Vector, who do you think is scum - and why!

You... I... what...

I voted Eduren for lurking.  He proceeded to splash scummitude everywhere, but I was studying for a midterm so I didn't have time to go all WoT on his ass.  Then I called you out, because you'd been quiet and non-postish for a while.

You sound distinctly like you're overreacting and trying to play "pin the scumtell on the Vector."

Who do I think is scum?

Eduren.  Meta, his play techniques, his going through the motions, his response to my calling him out, his not showing up until he had three votes on him, his guarding SirBayer.

SirBayer.  He's been flipping the hell out over relatively minor accusations and acting extremely self-preservational.

And now, the set of people I'm not sure about and need to think more on:

Errol?  You flipped the hell out over my asking you to stop lurking.  That puts a distinct number of scum-points on your card, no matter how townie I thought you were acting before.

Pandarsenic?  Hasn't been around for a few days.  I don't trust that.

Leafsnail?  Also hasn't been around much...

MagmaDeath?  ALSO LURKING.

So, in other words, half the town is lurking and half the town is active.  I'm willing to bet that after this Ridiculously Long Day ends we'll get some more activity, but for now I'm feeling distinctly uncomfortable.

Uh... so why did you concede in the first place?  I don't get it.

Uh... doesn't mentioning a fight involve naming names?  Specifically, the names of the people in that fight?  Also, I don't get why you're voting dorf.  You're pushing him weakly with a bad reason (for something like "tunnel vision", as far as I can tell).

Actually, now that I look at this quote here:
Quote from: Eduren (to SirBayer)
I call BS. He voted you D2 then just as quickly unvoted you to vote Zai. He didn't renew his vote on you until well into today. While I agree that he has been dismissing you, this hyperbole is not what we need.
I'm beginning to see a connection between you and SirBayer.  This quote is aggressive in tone ("I call BS") but has no real attack ("I agree that he has been dismissing you").  It seems like a stupidly over the top way to reprimand someone for something you regard as incorrectly applied terminology.
Quote from: SirBayer

Huh, not happening. Don't see it.

Funny, that.

Guess he's town.
He's now requesting a replacement.  So, if you want to vote for him, I would like you to provide proper, solid evidence of why he should be lynched.

To summarise:
Eduren is scum, posting over wide accusations in order to increase potential mislynch targets and avoid any serious fights.  Also occasional seems to make passive jabs at SirBayer.
SirBayer is also scum, bashing a weak and easy target on his own in order to avoid connecting himself with anybody.  Notice how Eduren is voting dorf for tunnelvision but completely ignoring SirBayer's total tunnelvision on ExKirby.

I would be fine with a lynch of either of them today.

I've admitted to foolishness as town before.

A series of lynches? You really think that after this I have any influence?

The reason I did this is because I needed to fling myself back into the conversation and questions like those were how I chose to do it.

Really? Defending my partner? Are you going to yell "Defending!" whenever I point out a town tell?

Uh... so why did you concede in the first place?  I don't get it.
I conceded prematurely.

Uh... doesn't mentioning a fight involve naming names?  Specifically, the names of the people in that fight?  Also, I don't get why you're voting dorf.  You're pushing him weakly with a bad reason (for something like "tunnel vision", as far as I can tell).
When asked for scum he said "Those two," Since I assumed that he didn't mean both are scum then he was actually saying "One or the other is scum." That wasn't good enough for me.

Since when do I need a reason to push somebody? There are many people on this forum whose whole town game consists of pushing people without reason.

You've admitted to foolishness, yes, but I haven't noticed this kind of heavy-lurk in other games followed with "Oh, I was overwhelmed."  It took being the main candidate for the lynch to make you show.

Every other time, it took just a bit of prodding to convince you to show up.  This time is different.

It's not a matter of questions.  It's a matter of you grabbing a little cluster of people and attacking them for hollow reasons.  That way, you never need to get your hands dirty by doing something serious.

I'll yell "defending" whenever you point out a town tell that isn't one.  Pointing out town tells is one thing.  When "wildly erratic and scummy behavior" is balanced out only by "was concerned about people voting him," I end up thinking he's your partner.

Saying this makes it so, Eduren!  Goddamnit... town would NEVER use this as an excuse.

It doesn't have to be defending.  Showing any kind of strange connection to a player is a scumtell.

Yes, but if you ADMIT to pushing someone with no reason, you're not pushing them at all!

I "admitted" because you made an issue of it. So it seems that pushing with no reason is ok? So then why bring it up?
