We were just talking about that. The parser kind of slightly broke. Also that's one dog that likes to move around a lot. Both things will be fixed eventually. Until then just ask on chat (@chat-on then c <message>) and I'll give you a bit.

There's been a quick dev meeting; Nothing concrete yet, but here's a concept we worked up for later development:
 
 - Avatars: Players will be immortal, but in order to visit other player's worlds, and possibly to manifest in their own worlds, they will need to use Avatars. These avatars will be mortal, in many ways similar to your citizens or worshipers or what have you. They will gain XP for things you use them to do. These will return to your afterlife realm when they die, you can resurrect them, with some loss. This will give players who want to explore something that they can develop and will allow world-building players to define certain rules for avatars that will visit.
 
 - Room Tweaks: Rooms may have a "size" that will impact how long it takes you to cross them, and how tired your avatar will get. Rooms will be built largely on grids which will allow you to build a full-functioned room with one command, automatically adding in and out passages. This will, naturally allow for a minimap to be added, which in fact may see some implementation or annother soon.
 
 For a short term goal, I'd like to see if add a few templates things like $food, $boot, and other simple items that will not have much value other than as roleplay tools, but will be fun to play with. $food would be edible, and would destroy itself when consumed, although admittedly you don't yet get hungry. $boot would be a personalized way to whack somebody with a thunderbolt or whatever when they annoy you, or you feel like being annoying.

The parser bug has been fixed.  It was an unforeseen incompatibility between the driver and the mudlib (GammaMOO and JHCore).  We don't need the server feature that was breaking, so I disabled it.  I looked through the source code just to make sure there aren't any more of these surprises and didn't see any.

Okay, two things:

Apparently we've had working color for a while now, and...

This is the current state of the digging system. The next step is to make grids easily player-creatable and sortable into 'areas.' Then maybe I'll try to get the map to integrate into the room description. I'm thinking bottom left, just above the exit list. The minimap in hellmoo tends to 'bob' up and down while you're walking if the room descriptions are taller than the map as it's placed at the top.

Oh, I forgot to mention, The rooms all being '..' means that none of them have up or down exits. A room with an up and down exit displays as '^v', one with only an up exit and no down exit as '^.' and one with only a down exit as '.v'.

Technically it's cyan. Bold, even. Also, I really need to modify $player:tell to use pinkfish-style color subs so I don't have to use raw escape sequences and so you can do all sorts of cool things like turning it off without having a horrible mess of ascii and, uh... not much else. Yeah.
